Hacienda Heights is located in Los Angeles County just south of the 60 Freeway and east of the 605 Freeway. Its neighboring cities include La Habra to the south, La Puente to the north, Rowland Heights to the east and Whittier to the west. Manzanita County Park is home to baseball diamonds, basketball courts, playgrounds, tennis courts and a community center that offers a variety of organized recreational events throughout the year.

Throughout the year, Hacienda Heights puts on a variety of events and festivals for its residents and visitors. Throughout the year, the city host s movie nights – in the parks in warmer months and in its libraries through the winter. In addition, there are a plethora of musical, food and art festivals that take place in the summer months and holidays.
Attractions & Shopping:
Hacienda Heights is located just minutes for the Puente Hills Mall – a shopping and dining mecha. Restaurants include Johnny Rocket’s, Joe’s Crab Shack, Outback Steakhouse, Panera and Souplantation. Some popular retail stores include Macy’s and Sears. The mall is also home to AMC Movie Theatre. A fun fact: the mall was also used as a filming location for the popular movie “Back to the Future.”
Beyond shopping and dining venues, Hacienda Heights is also home to a very important cultural landmark – The His Lai Temple. This temple is the largest Buddhist temple in all of Southern California, with a square footage of over 100,00 square feet. The temple is situated on over 15 acres and boasts a stunning architecture, traditional Chinese gardens and a cultural center for those interested in learning more about Buddhism and the Chinese culture. This landmark is not only interesting on the inside, but is a lovely site to see in the hills of Hacienda Heights.

Hacienda Heights is is an unincorporated census-designated area in and around San Gabriel Valley’s Puente Hills. Over the years, the region has remained predominately residential and has seen an increase of residents over the past several decades.
